The brochure’s cover retains the fresh redesign introduced last year with its striking images of the professional acts coming to Sevenoaks this Summer – Back to Basie, That’ll Be The Day, John Shuttleworth, Kevin Dempsey & Rosie Carson fronting the John Smedley Folk Memorial Concert plus Ward Thomas headlining a Night Of Country Music – all at the Stag.

Over at Sevenoaks School’s Pamoja Hall, the big attractions are Georgie Fame & The Blue Flames making a rare UK appearance, Emma Johnson with her new show presenting the music of the jazz and swing clarinettists, and Harry the Piano, demonstrating his remarkable virtuosity both in concert and in a masterclass. The School’s Sackville Theatre sees a welcome return of Louise Jameson in her new play “Driving Me Round The Bend” while Walthamstow Hall’s Ship Theatre and Knole Academy’s Oaks Theatre are hosts to this year’s version of 2014’s classical concerts by Young Professionals, re-styled ‘Young Artists in Concert’ and featuring acclaimed French pianist Emilie Capulet at The Ship while local musicians and last year’s BBC Young Musician finalists Matilda Lloyd and Sophie Westbrooke are at the Oaks Theatre.

Alongside the professional offerings, community groups’ events feature prominently throughout the 16 days of Festival from Saturday 20 June to Sunday 5 July. Festival Fair opens proceedings on Saturday 20 June, when the new Town Mayor will arrive in Bligh’s Meadow on the vintage bus to formally open proceedings. Bligh’s is the central focus with plenty also going on in The Shambles and Vine Gardens throughout the day.
